Registering your pet’s microchip is essential for their safety and your peace of mind. This guide walks you through the registration process for microchips that have never been registered before with pet details. If you see a message after adding your pet's microchip number asking you if you're the new keeper please read this article.
Step 1:
The first step is to create an account which you can do here: https://app.mypethq.io/register. If you already have an account you can login here: https://app.mypethq.io/login.
After registering, you’ll receive a verification email. Click the link in this email to confirm your account before proceeding.
Step 2:
Once logged in we’ll ask you to enter your details. You can also subscribe to our mailing lists and then click Save.
Step 3:
Next you can add your pet’s details.

Step 4:
- If your pet registration needs to go through the new keeper process we’ll let you know here. You can see that process outlined HERE.
- We will also check your pet’s microchip is not registered on any other UK database at this point.
Step 5:
Once you’ve added all the pets you can click next where you’ll then get to pick a plan.
- When it’s a MyPet microchip you’ll always have the option to go for MyPet Basic completely free of charge.

What Happens Next?
After completing registration, you’ll:
- Receive a confirmation email with your registration certificate
- Gain immediate access to your MyPet account dashboard
- Be able to set up additional features if you selected a premium plan
- Receive your smart pet tags within 24 hours if you selected the MyPet Pampered plan (we’ll email you tracking information)
Troubleshooting Common Issues
- Verification email not received? Check your spam folder or login which will allow you to request a new verification email
- Error during microchip verification? Contact our support team with your microchip number
- Can’t remember if your microchip is registered? Use our microchip lookup tool
